Chris Perkins is a highly experienced, commercially astute and professional Finance Executive, Chief Financial Officer, Business Advisor and Non-Executive Director. He is a strategic thinker, a leader, a problem solver and an analyst. Other attributes include being technically competent, highly experienced, hard-working, highly motivated, goal orientated, ethical, considered, composed and committed to continuous learning.
He has held a number of senior executive financial and operational roles within diverse sectors including utilities, health, education, research, property and childcare. Additionally, he has had experience with different types of organisations including Corporates, Not-For-Profits, Small-to-Medium Enterprises and Trusts. Experience includes working for one of Australia’s top corporates (Telstra) and over 7 years as Chief Financial Officer of the Mater Group (which has been ranked within the Top 50 Private Companies in Australia by IBIS World).
Chris has an extensive and broad educational background with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting / Marketing Management) from University of New England and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Southern Cross University. Complementing these qualifications he has completed several Executive Education Programs at Harvard Business School and the CFO Advance Program with CPA Australia (in conjunction with Chicago Booth University).
Being a Fellow and Graduate of CPA Australia (FCPA), Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and Governance Institute of Australia (FGIA) Chris is highly informed of contemporary accounting and governance practice.
Having held a number of non-executive director positions with not for profit organisations in the housing and disability sectors, including currently as a Non-Executive Director and Finance, Audit and Asset Committee Chair for disability service provider Multicap, Chris is well aware of the challenges in governing organisations.
During his career Chris has worked closely with Boards, CEO’s and Senior Management in developing and implementing organisational strategy and business plans, financing business growth, improving business operations and profitability, monitoring achievement of business objectives and understanding key risks within the organisation.
