Joseph qualified as a chartered accountant in England in the late 1980’s and moved to Perth in 1992 and has worked as finance director of private companies and as CFO, Company Secretary and Director of ASX listed companies.
Joseph joined a health club group in the mid-1990’s and after a management buyout became the finance director and grew the business, implementing controls into an immature industry and managing cash flow to become Australia’s largest group. After selling the business, Joseph was involved in acquiring a start-up business and ended up doing a back-door listing. Joseph moved to Melbourne for 6 months as state manager to gain experience in an operational role.
Joseph spent 2 years with an engineering company initially as a Divisional CFO and then working with the CEO on special projects from acquisitions to implementing a cash flow management program across the group. From 2010-2020, Joseph was the CFO / Co Sec with an ASX-listed company in the pharmaceutical space where he was also a director for over 6 years.
Joseph has extensive experience with project valuations, strategy, business acquisitions and disposals, in- and out-licensing products, cash flow planning, capital raisings, R&D Tax Incentive claims, financial reporting and corporate governance. But also, has an entrepreneurial side having launched his own small company in late 2020 which he operates in his spare time.
Joseph joined CFO Centre in May 2021 as he maintains his passion to work with SMEs and making a difference by blending his own CFO and business ownership experiences.
